A house on high ground is seen from a distance and from below, which means the roofline and anything with height does the work, while porch-level detail mostly disappears. Can you light the storefronts too?

Yes, and a small-town Main Street is one of the best returns on holiday lighting there is. A consistent lit run down a block of older commercial fronts transforms a town for six weeks. If a few business owners want to go in together, one call gets the whole stretch quoted.
