A county seat that still feels like a small town

Huntsville is the county seat of Randolph County, sitting west of Moberly on Highway 24 — a square, a courthouse, a few blocks of older commercial buildings and then residential streets that go quiet quickly. The houses are a mix of nineteenth-century two-storeys with porches and postwar single-storeys on comfortable lots, which from our side of things means two quite different jobs, both of them straightforward. It is an easy run for us out of Columbia, usually paired with Moberly work on the same day.

What does it cost in a town this size?

The same way it costs anywhere: by the feet of roofline and how hard that roofline is to reach. Huntsville has a lot of low, simple, accessible fronts, and those are the cheapest good-looking installs we do. Give us the address and we will measure from photos and come back with one firm number.

Do you come out for one house?

We will, though it is better for everyone if we are not making the trip for a single job. If a neighbour or two on your street want lights as well, mention it — grouped bookings get scheduled faster and priced better, and Huntsville is small enough that word travels.

Older two-storey or newer ranch — which is the better job?

Neither, honestly. A ranch gives you one long clean line for less money; an older two-storey gives you height, a porch and gable detail for more. What matters far more than the house type is whether the run is level and the bulb temperature is consistent, and that is on us either way.

Will you come back if something goes out?

Yes, included. Randolph County gets real weather, and a hard freeze or an ice storm can take out a section or knock a run loose. Call or text and we will be back out — usually within a couple of days, sooner if it is the whole front.
