Every corner of Howard County
Christmas Light Installation Across Howard County — town squares to river bluffs
Fayette, Glasgow, New Franklin, Armstrong and every farm lane in between. It is a short run over the river from Columbia, and we make the trip.
A county of old towns and long views
Howard County sits across the Missouri River from Boone, and it is one of the older settled corners of the state — Fayette with its courthouse square and college, Glasgow up on the river, New Franklin, Armstrong, and a lot of country in between. The building stock reflects it: nineteenth-century brick and clapboard in the towns, working farmsteads out on the ridges, and homes on properties large enough that the house is only the start of what could be lit.
Do you actually come out this far?
Yes. Howard County is a normal part of our week, not a favour. The practical thing that helps everyone is grouping — if we are already coming to Fayette or Glasgow on a given day, a second job nearby costs less to schedule and gets done sooner. Mention your neighbours when you call.
What does a farm property need?
More thought than a town lot and usually less money than people expect. The house roofline is the anchor, but a barn or shop with a big simple gable, a run of fence along the road, or a single big cedar picked out can carry a whole property. Long views mean your display is seen from a distance, which favours bold, simple shapes over close-up detail.
Older brick in Fayette and Glasgow — is that a problem?
It is a reason to hire someone rather than a reason to worry. On historic masonry and original trim we fix with clips and existing hardware and we do not put holes in things. The lines on these houses are worth tracing carefully; a nineteenth-century facade outlined properly is the best-looking thing in a small town in December.
Do you do the small towns as well as the big ones?
We do — Armstrong, Franklin and the crossroads places included. If you are in a very small community, the same grouping logic applies: a few houses on the same trip makes it easy for us to say yes and keeps the price sensible for you.
