Honest about the distance

Salisbury is the seat of Chariton County, north-west of Columbia up Highway 24 — a genuine small county town with older homes, generous lots, a working main street and farmland starting more or less at the edge of it. It is toward the outer limit of what we can sensibly reach from Columbia, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. What it means in practice is that Salisbury work gets scheduled in batches rather than one house at a time, so booking early and booking with neighbours makes a real difference to whether we can fit you in.

So can you actually do my house?

Usually yes — we just need to know reasonably early in the season. If we have a day routed north up 24 with a few jobs on it, adding you is easy. If you call in the middle of December as the only booking within thirty miles, we will tell you honestly whether we can get there rather than promising and letting you down.

What kind of display suits a place like this?

Big and simple. Wide lots and open ground mean your display is seen from distance, and distance eats detail. A clean roofline, one strongly lit tree, and maybe a shed or fence run will read far better than a dozen small elements competing at close range.

Do you do farms as well as houses in town?

Yes, and farmsteads are some of the most satisfying work we get. A shop building with one big simple gable, a windbreak of cedars, a lane lined out to the road — those are shapes that carry. Gravel and long drives are fine; just tell us what the access is like so we bring the right gear.

What is included?

The lights, the design, the install, repairs while they are up, takedown in January and storage over the summer. One price for the season. Given the drive, that matters more out here than it does in town — you are not going to want to be the one climbing back up in a freeze to fix a strand.
